After a year without live entertainment due to the pandemic, I was itching to get back into a theatre when I got the call from the Chance about this song cycle by Pasek & Paul. James, the director, was inspired by current events and how the "characters" were faced with pivotal moments of change, interpersonal connection and growth.
Though my concentration was primarily on the music & system design, sonic content was used to aid in transitions, create a sense of movement, and, with the other design elements, establish connections between characters in different songs.
