In our production of Tony Kushner's classic, the team focused on how to accurately depict the fall of the Weimar Republic in Germany during the 1930s - highlighting how even the most principled individuals give into the pressure of an overwhelming .
For the sound design, Jack and I focused on the musical world of the play: how the bubbly period orchestrations heard throughout German music halls twisted into something much more disarming, uncanny, and menacing.
